Miguel Angel Puig-Samper Mulero
    PhD in Biological Sciences at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Research Professor of the CSIC.
Training and Professional experience
    Current Director of the Publications Department of the CSIC. Former Vice-Director of the Institute of History and Director of the History and Documentation Unit of the Real Jardín Botánico de Madrid as well as its Historic Archive Director and Chief Editor of this institution's Annals. He has enjoyed numerous research stays and has given a number of lectures and conferences in France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Czeck Republic and especially in Latin American countries such as Mexico, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Chile, Colombia, Brazil, etc.
He is a member of the Sociedad Latinoamericana de Historia de la Ciencia y la Tecnología and a great deal of scientific societies such as the Asociación de Latinoamericanistas Europeos, the London Natural History Society, the Sociedad Española de Historia de las Ciencias y las Técnicas, the Real Sociedad Geográfica, etc.
He is also a member of the editorial board of the Asclepio journal and the advisory board of the Revista de Indias and the German electronic journal HiN. This journal is jointly published by the Berlin-Brandenburgische Akademie der Wissenschaften and the University of Potsdam and is devoted to Humboldt.
Research experience

    He has been the Principal Investigator in 8 publicly-funded projects and has participated in twelve other projects between 1980 and 2006. At these projects ten new researchers have been trained. He has collaborated in six exhibitions and has organized 15 congresses at national and international level.
His basic research lines are focussed on the history of Anthropology, the acceptance of darwinism from a comparative perspective, the history of science in Spain and Latin America as well scientific expeditions.

    He is the author of 9 books and scientific editor of 15 monographs. He has written 50 articles in national and international journals as well as 60 papers published in collective volumes.
