Luis Miguel García Mora
Training and professional experience
Born in Madrid. Graduate in Geography and History, speciality: Contemporary History (1989).
- Predoctoral grant holder by the Instituto de Historia, CSIC (1990-1993).
- Contributor to the Fundación Mapfre América (1994-1996).
- Researcher at the Fundación Histórica Tavera (1996-2001).
- Researcher at the Fundación Mapfre Tavera (2002-2005).
- Since January 2006, researcher and project coordinator at the Institute of History of the Fundación Mapfre.
- Director of the Prisma Histórico Series and the Debate y Perspectivas journal.
Author of books, scientific monographs and book chapters, editor of collective and individual research articles in national and international publications. He has stayed at several universities in European and American countries as invited lecturer, and organized and contributed to numerous scientific congresses.
Research lines
His research lines focuss mainly on political processes at the end of the XIX century in the Spanish West Indies, particularly regarding movements towards autonomy and socio-economic transformations in sugar industry.
